Search & Tag Features

Sprouti's search and tag features help you quickly find target information from large amounts of documents.
Achieve efficient information management by combining tag systems with a high-speed search engine.

Search Features

Text Search

  1. Press the search button in the footer while viewing a document to open the search bar
  2. Enter search keywords and press Enter or click the search button
  3. Matching words in the text will be highlighted

Shortcuts

  • Ctrl/Cmd + F: Open text search

Advanced Search

  1. Press the search button in the sidebar to display the search panel
  2. Enter search keywords and press Enter or click the search button
  3. Search results will be displayed

Search Shortcuts

  • Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + F: Open advanced search

Search Scope

  • Document Name: Document names
  • Folder Name: Folder names
  • Content: Markdown text content
  • Folder Description: Folder description text

Current Search Functionality

Basic Search (Partial Match)

Search example: "meeting"
Result: Documents containing "meeting" in name or content

How Search Works:

  • Search by document name
  • Search by document content
  • Case insensitive
  • Partial match search

Search Tips:

  • Use specific keywords
  • Enter complete text if it contains spaces
  • Be aware of spelling variations

Notes:
• AND/OR/NOT search is not currently supported
• Wildcard (*) search is not currently supported
• Phrase search is not currently supported

Result List Display

  • Document Name: Click to open document
  • Matched Content: Highlighted display
  • Document Path: Folder hierarchy display
  • Last Updated: Document update date/time

Sort Features

  • By Update Date: Most recently updated first (default)
  • Pinned Priority: Prioritize pinned documents

Filter Features

  • Folder Specification: Search within specific folders
  • Tag Filter: Filter by specific tags
  • Pinned Filter: Display only pinned documents

Basic Tag Concepts

What are Tags?

  • Classification Labels: Labels for categorizing documents and folders
  • Cross-cutting Classification: Can classify beyond folder structure
  • Flexible Management: Multiple tags can be added to one document

Tag Features

  • Case Insensitive: "Project" and "project" are the same tag
  • Unicode Support: Chinese characters, hiragana, katakana can be used
  • Special Character Support: Hyphens, underscores, etc. can be used

How to Add Tags

Method 1: From Document Details Screen

  1. Select document
  2. Check the document details panel on the right
  3. Enter in the "Add Tag" field
  4. Add with Enter key

※ Tags can be up to 25 characters long

Tag Deletion

  1. Tag list in document details screen
  2. Click the "×" button for the tag you want to delete
  3. Tag is deleted

Tag Cloud

What is Tag Cloud?

A list of tags in use, displayed in the right sidebar.

Display Features

  • Size: Size changes according to usage frequency
  • Color Coding: Color coding by category or importance
  • Click Function: Click tags to filter

Using Tag Cloud

  1. Check Frequently Used Tags: Tags displayed larger
  2. Quick Filtering: Instant filtering by clicking tags
  3. Tag Organization: Check and organize unused tags

Narrowing Search Results

  1. Start with broad keywords
  2. If many results, filter by tags
  3. Specify folders for further narrowing
